The Cellar's Restaurant at Penhill Farm is a seasonal and contemporary fine-dining establishment run by talented head chef, Kaylin Govender.

 

Kaylin is passionate about good seasonal produce, excellent service and fantastic local wines.

Regular Events:

  • Sunday Lunch at Penhill Farm: 12h00 - 15h00.
    Lunch guests can explore the farm and make use of Penhill facilities until 17h00. Penhill Farm is a historic Cape Dutch estate surrounded by mountains, fynbos and big skies. It is a place made for unhurried meals, good wine and the easy rhythm of a country afternoon. Sunday lunches bring all of this together in one relaxed, generous experience.
     

  • Monthly Pasta Making Class: every 3rd Saturday of the month with Chef Kaylin from 14h00 – 17h00.
    Small groups – seats are limited. 
    Slow afternoons, shared tables, and pasta made by hand in the heart of the Nuy Valley. Our monthly pasta classes bring this spirit into the kitchen. Under the guidance of our chef, you will mix, knead, roll and shape fresh pasta before sitting down to enjoy what you have created, paired with seasonal flavours from the valley.
     

  • Penhill Farm Picnics, always available.
    Picnic guests can explore the farm and make use of Penhill facilities until 17h00. Minimum 4 guests per booking. 

    Picnics at Penhill are unhurried, barefoot affairs. Collect your basket from the farm kitchen and find a spot that suits your mood, whether it is on the lawns beneath the oaks, beside the dam with your feet in the water or tucked away under a stretch of blue Nuy Valley sky. Inside you will find generous, seasonal food, something sweet to finish and all the little details taken care of, so you can simply spread out a blanket, open a bottle and spend the afternoon exactly as you please.
     

  • Dinner in the Vines (summer season only): once a month from November to April, 1-night sleep over package includes Dinner in the Vines, accommodation and breakfast. Maximum 40 seats per monthly event. Bookings are essential.

    Imagine this. You arrive at Penhill in the late afternoon, settle into your cottage and wander down to the vines. A glass of wine in hand, you find your seat at a candlelit long table between the rows, with the mountains turning pink around you. Dinner in the Vines is one of our most intimate Penhill experiences, created for couples and small groups who want something more than a standard night out. Summer dates are limited and each evening is capped at 40 guests only.
