7 March - Hands on Harvest at Excelsior

Start your morning with freshly baked mosbolletjies and coffee before heading into the vineyard to pick & stomp your own grapes. From there, enjoy a guided vineyard & cellar tour before stepping into the blending workshop, where you craft your very own bottle to take home. Finish with a generous harvest table buffet.

A day filled with grape expectations, Live music, a local market, Good food, and great wine.

Come celebrate the 2026 harvest at Rietvallei with Anna Davel who is known for her elegant interpretations of jazz, chanson and Afrikaans listening songs. Her music carries a nostalgic quality — she doesn’t just sing songs; she tells stories. Imagine soft fairy lights twinkling between the trees, a delicious glass of wine as the last golden light of day settles over the vineyards, and the estate slowly growing quiet as evening falls.
Enjoy a delightful three-course dinner between 18h00 and 20h00, followed by the performance.

Slow afternoons, shared tables, and pasta made by hand in the heart of the Nuy Valley. Our monthly pasta classes bring this spirit into the kitchen. Under the guidance of our chef, you will mix, knead, roll and shape fresh pasta before sitting down to enjoy what you have created, paired with seasonal flavours from the valley.

Imagine you arrive at Penhill in the late afternoon, settle into your cottage and wander down to the vines.

A glass of wine in hand, you find your seat at a candlelit long table between the rows, with the mountains turning pink around you. Dinner in the Vines is one of the most intimate Penhill experiences, created for couples and small groups who want something more than a standard night out. Summer dates are limited and each evening is capped at 40 guests only.
