VAN LOVEREN

Van Loveren has been in the Retief family since 1937 when Hennie Retief acquired the land in the Robertson Valley. From humble beginnings Van Loveren has grown to become South Africa's leading family-owned winery, known for their consistency, award-winning wines as well as innovation.

 

From the guided garden tours to the contemporary on-site bistro, Van Loveren is a must-visit Robertson attraction. 

 

CHRISTINA'S BISTRO

 

Specialising in thin-crusted wood fire pizzas, gourment burgers and a variety season chef's specialities, the Christina's Bistro allows guests to enjoy a glass of their favourite Van Loveren wine under a shaded pergola.

 

MyRUN

 

Van Loveren offers 2.5km and 5km walk/runs every Sunday morning starting between 7am-8am. Everyone is welcome, regardless of fitness level.

 

BIRD WATCHING:

 

As many as 100 bird species can be spotted in a day along the Van Loveren birding route.

 

MOUNTAIN BIKING


There are three mountain bike routes that offer amazing views of the farm and the valley. The routes range from an easy, scenic route for families to routes of intermediate difficulty that will keep fitter riders occupied for a few hours. You can bring your own bike or rent one from the farm. 

 

GARDEN TOURS:

 

The beautiful garden surrounding the winery is marvel commemorating special family, political and historical occasions. A leaflet detailing all these stories is available from the staff and guests are welcome to do self-guided tours or join a guided excursion.

TOURS:

 

Guided cellar tours take place during the week at R70 per person including a glass of MCC.

HIKING TRAIL

 

The Fish Eagle hiking trail takes visitors along the river, as well as through the various types of velf and wildlife atrractions found on the Estate.
